Thank you for the comprehensive review. Looks like the spinning model could be better than the baitcasting model for such UL action and softness of the blank, the lures in 1-2g range being easier to cast with a spinning combo. Also, the color of the blank looks to be a perfect match for Abu Cardinal 33 reel 😊 (I usually prefer using my baitcasting equipment for minnowing)
Thank you for your comment. Indeed, when casting ultra-lightweight lures like 1-2g, spinning tackle is more suitable. However, since I prefer baitcasting tackle, I can’t help but want to cast even ultra-lightweight lures with it. For users like me, who enjoy such a unique approach, I think the softness of this rod makes sense. By the way, this rod is also available in a spinning version, so pairing it with a Cardinal reel sounds great!😊
Also the choice of O-Ring guides is not only quality and cost question… most important is the weight question. Glass blanks are softer than graphite blanks by nature and the weight of the guides is impacting the action a lot… Fuji Torzite guides should be used instead to save weight: weight difference of 2g for the guides then can cast lures 5g easily instead of max 3g…
Zen I hope you have been well my friend! How is the rod in your opinion? It looks quite nice. Also, do you happen to know the current price out of curiosity? Cheers my friend!
Thanks for your comment! I really like this rod because it’s so unique. The price is about 35,000 yen, so at today’s exchange rate, it’s around 235 USD.

I agree with your opinion.
If the guides were lighter, the rod action would be a bit quicker, making it easier to give more action to the lure.
